These frogs were inspired by the Black rain frog (Breviceps fuscus). The original sculpture was scanned to .007mm accuracy, the body shape has been digitally altered to be slightly smaller and more avocado-like. These pieces are 3D printed in resin, sanded and carefully hand-painted with a protective varnish and UV resin for the eyes.

They are solid resin so still have some weight to them compared to the hand-cast gypsum versions. They make great grumpy paperweights! They measure roughly 2.1” in diameter (5.5cm).

Rain frogs can be found in the desert of South Africa and Namibia. They have a mighty squeak and love to bury themselves deep into the sand. Sadly they’re a vulnerable species in the wild, but have captured the hearts of many including myself and this is my tribute to them.

There may be minor imperfections and slight variations in the sanding and paint job. Each is one-of-a-kind!
