ABOUT THE ARTIST

Meet Becca Bolde, a multi-hat-wearing artist whose creative journey began in the film and video industry, but it was her encounter with polymer clay that lead to her true passion for sculpting.

For more than a decade, Becca honed her skills as an editor, art director and motion graphics/vfx artist in New York City, weaving visuals into various digital projects. Whether teaming up with high profile studios or flying solo, clients ranged from Mercedes-Benz to small, family-owned honey farms. She’d occasionally pick up a paintbrush and make paintings, including murals in Spain and New Zealand. But the call of a more hands-on, tangible medium finally brought her to polymer clay. This became her gateway for exploring the beauty of nature and wildlife, particularly marine life, through this unique medium.

In late 2019 Becca moved to The Netherlands and opened up an online shop to run in-between digital projects. Driven by a desire to challenge herself, she’s constantly experimenting with new materials, mold-making and casting techniques. Her most recent discovery of ceramics and silicone has opened up a whole new world of creating. As she forges ahead, she’s excited to learn about new species and push her skills to capture them as realistically as possible.
