These frogs were inspired by the Black rain frog (Breviceps fuscus). They’re hand-cast in white porcelain gypsum, textured and carefully hand-painted. There’s quite some weight to these plumps, similar to stone, so they make great grumpy paperweights! They measure roughly 2.5” in diameter (6.5cm).

Rain frogs can be found in the desert of South Africa and Namibia. They have a mighty squeak and love to bury themselves deep into the sand. Sadly they’re a vulnerable species in the wild, but have captured the hearts of many including myself and this is my tribute to them.

These are uniquely handmade, so there may be minor imperfections and slight variations in texture and paint job. Each is truly one-of-a-kind!
